NATIONAL TRUST

Jay Turner Frey Seawell
National Trust, the first book by Washington, D.C.-based artist Jay Seawell, takes a critical look at the structures of power in American political and media culture. Employing a somber humor, Seawell’s photographs explore the careful fabrication of the façades that exist throughout the deeply intertwined worlds of power, politics, and media in the United States. Seawell's subjects range from historical architecture to political spectacles and media production, all of which he meticulously pictures with a mix of irony and disenchantment.
